THREE BLIND MICE.

I had to do a quick google to assure myself of what greasers looked like. I am mainly inspired by 'the T birds' from grease the film. I grew up watching this film and so have a pretty good idea of how I would like my characters to look.

Here are my first initial doodles for the first few panels of the comic. 
I decided to play to my strengths in this task and start the comic page off with animal illustrations. I primarily draw animals so I thought this was a good start. 
I wanted the comic to start out 'cute', it is a nursery rhyme after all. After this I plan on making cute mice from the original rhyme morph into the men, starting the comic off properly and to eventually become more gritty.

I am really pushing myself in this task as I don't usually like to draw people, especially males. I am pushing myself so that I can eventually become more comfortable with drawing a wider range than just illustrative animals.

I had a photoshoot so that I would have primary images to reference.

I much like the idea of these drawings being more stylised. It reminds me more of modern web comics.

After the initial sketches and deciding my basic layout I then illustrated my characters in watercolour. This is so that I could place them together digitally using procreate on my ipad. I wanted to finish my pages off this way as I would have more freedom with layout/colours and much more room for failure as I haven't tried to conquer a task like this before.

Considering this project only lasted 2 weeks and had a very quick turn around I am very happy with my final product.
