america and high modernityJust what is it that makes today's homes so different, so appealing? This collage by Richard Hamilton, made in 1956, is one of the first iconic pieces of pop art made. It was created for a catalogue of the exhibition 'this is tomorrow' in London. Here is my own version of the picture: I tried to make my room look as busy and hectic as I could as that's how the original piece made me feel when viewing it. I added things that seem to be important in peoples lives at the moment, Such as celebrities, junk food, games, pets and distractions from reality such as superheroes.
